EFFECTIVENESS
The Canadian Foreign Service Institute's Profile of the Interculturally Effective Person suggests that nine major competencies contribute to overseas effectiveness: Factors contributing to overseas effectiveness include: (1) Adaptation skills; (2) An attitude of modesty and respect; (3) An understanding of the concept of culture; (4) Knowledge of the host country and culture; (5) Relationship building; (6) Self-knowledge: (7) Intercultural communication; (8) Organizational skills; and (9) Personal and professional commitment.
ENDURANCE
Endurance is a term used to describe "someone who is able to live contentedly and work successfully in another culture for the full duration of their overseas assignment." Factors contributing to overseas endurance include: (1) Spirituality; (2) Sense of vocation; (3) Strength of character; (4) Hardy personality; (5) Stress management skills; (6) Social support systems; (7) Organizational support systems; (8) Personal health management; (9) Socio-political conditions.

After IHM health-care providers receive your completed Personal Assessment Package a three hour face-to-face appointment is arranged to dialogue about the assessment results as they pertain to your overseas resiliency.
Should your Sending Organization require a report, this will be written with your collaboration and released to designated recipient(s) with your informed consent.
