International Health Management

Your follow-up appraisal builds on the Initial Screening process by seeking to explore in more depth those risk factors already identified for pre-determined target conditions. A target condition in screening is a health concern that could either be prevented or managed even before symptoms or signs develop.

Go to Members and register/request IHM to send you our Initial Screening Package that contains the paper and pencil versions of the psychosocial assessment tools used in expatriate screening.

After IHM health-care providers receive your completed Initial Screening Package a telephone or face-to-face appointment is arranged to dialogue about the assessment results as they pertain to health risks arising from your: (1) past health history, (2) present health profile, (3) overseas destination, (4) overseas role, and (5) the overseas posting hardship level as determined by Canada's Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade (DFAIT).

Should your Sending Organization require a report, this will be written with your collaboration and released to designated recipient(s) with your informed consent.
