Travellers advised to get flu vaccine

The FluAs flu season approaches, the Public Health Agency of Canada reminds travellers to take precautions to avoid getting the seasonal flu, including the H1N1 2009 strain.

The Public Health Agency of Canada recommends that individuals who have an acute respiratory illness either before leaving Canada or while abroad should delay travel to reduce the risk of spreading the virus.

Some countries have put into place screening measures to check for symptoms of the flu among arriving passengers. You should consult the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade (DFAIT) External link for further information on whether the country you are travelling to/from has established screening measures.

The original article, and further information, can be found here on the Public Health Agency of Canada website.
